Check you Social Security
It's a good idea to periodically check your social security records. If there is an error, you may have 3 years, 3 months, and 15 days to correct it. After that, the Government does not have to correct it. This is a provision is section 205 (c) of the social security law. If you would like to read an interesting and easy to read case of a lawyer who tried to argue against this provision, click HERE.
The government provides a comprehensive and informative social security site. To learn more, visit the Social Security Administration's home page by clicking below:
The top ten services requested from the social security are available at http://www.ssa.gov/top10.html which is part of the Social Security Administration's website. This is a convenient location from which to request a copy of your social security information.
